The frame, fork, seatpost and handlebar are all made of carbon fiber, making the Urtopia a super lightweight 30-pound (14 kg) e-bike. An average girl can carry it upstairs without much effort!
Urtopia's most powerful Turbo mode allows you to ride comfortably with little to zero pedaling. To conform to the laws of different countries, two versions of speed modes (25 km/h for European version and 32 km/h for US version) are available. You can easily switch between the five power modes (Pedal, Eco, Comfort, Sport and Turbo) with one click or voice control.
- Most developed countries have strict speed limits on e-bikes for public roads. The speed reachable by motors more powerful than 250W is more than the 20 mph (32km/h) limit for most countries. As Urtopia is designed for an urban setting, more power doesn't mean more use.
- For a motor, size and weight increase along with power at a higher rate, and the accompanying battery needs to have more capacity and hence more weight. Thus, a more powerful motor significantly increases the overall weight of an e-bike. You can hardly pedal back home when a 750W 30kg e-bike runs out of battery.
- More powerful motors and batteries cost so much more. Period.
Urtopia e-bike has five power modes in total, and you can switch to pedal model if you don’t need any power assist. Urtopia’s proprietary clutch technology enables a riding experience exactly like when you ride a regular bike with virtually zero drag. With the integrated torque sensor, Urtopia knows when you're riding on inclined or rough roads and may adjust power output accordingly to ease your effort.
Urtopia's proprietary motor and clutch system is designed to imitate the pedaling efficiency achievable by the change of mechanical gearing. For now, Urtopia provides five power modes from Pedal mode in which you ride Urtopia exactly like a regular bike, to Turbo mode in which you reach full throttle with maximum assisted speed. Auto speed adaptation is also in the pipeline and OTA upgradable.
Urtopia is made of full carbon fibre, including the frame, handlebar, forks, and seatpost. This material absorbs vibrations effectively. In addition, Urtopia e-bike is designed for urban commute and not a gravel/mountain bike. So we think it meets the needs for suspension for most urban scenarios.
Yes. Urtopia e-bike uses standard bike pedals which are replaceable.
Yes. You can connect your Urtopia e-bike via Bluetooth, WiFi and 4G.
We use Gates Carbon Drive™ belt for power transmission. It's very durable and won't break with normal use for up to 30,000 km (at least 5~7 years). There is also a two-year warranty on the belt, which means we'll repair or replace it if within warranty.
In the rare case you need to replace the belt, you just loosen four screws that secure the rear wheel in place and take off the connector on the right seat stay to take out the old belt and put back the new one. Then reverse the process to put everything back. It takes about 15-20 minutes for one person to operate.
No. Urtopia e-bike frame is strong enough for regular urban use. We always put quality first. Our team has spent more than half a year testing on the bike frame, which has passed some of the requirements of BS EN 14766 standard designed for mountain bikes on rough terrains.
Urtopia e-bike frame comes in two sizes for riders with a height from 5′ 5″~6′ 5″ (165~195 cm). The maximum weight limit is 240 lb (110 kg).
Urtopia is equipped with a front and rear hydraulic disc brake system, which are more reliable than rim brakes, or v-brakes, providing a safer riding experience.
The estimated travelling distance in Eco mode after a full charge is approximately 80 miles (130 km).
In general, there is a 2-year warranty on components and parts.

The headlight conforms to the German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO). For the bike rear, we have our proprietary safety lights array ARES (Advanced Rear Early-indication System), which is composed of a red position light, an mmWave radar, and two projection lights to indicate turn directions.
After-sales service will be provided at our support centers at local warehouses in North America and Europe. The Urtopia carbon e-bike is designed with modularity in mind, meaning that most components, especially the IoT parts such as the Smartbar and ARES are made and replaceable as a whole. A customer can order a replacement part and change it at home for most scenarios.
